Australia’s international borders are questionable to reopen until next year, with experts saying they are “after the medical advice” and will only do so when it is considered “safe”.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said, “the budget anticipation is that migration will begin again in 2022.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison says the border lines will “only open when it’s safe to do so”.
“There will constantly be cases as we take back Australians home from overseas. International borders will only wide open when it is safe to do so,” he said.
“We still have a slow way to go, and there are even many doubts ahead. Australians are living like in few nations around the world. We will continue to do as much as we can to work together avoid a third wave and turn out our vaccination Programme.
About 9,000 Australians presently stranded in India have recorded their desire to return home with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
